Bleaching acne-prone skin can help your acne scars fade away.
Bleaching skin agents may not help to fully do away with the redness caused by breakouts of your skin and active inflammation.
However, they might reduce the redness or the dark spots left behind when acne is healed.
Bleaching is not considered the best option despite the appearance of your skin.
This is because bleaches make your skin more sensitive and prone to damage caused by UV rays.
The following are ways that can be used to bleach Acne-prone skin;
- Use of natural methods
- Use of bleaching creams
Using Bleaching Creams
A way to know if a certain cream won’t affect you is by conducting a patch test.
Another way is doing research and consulting your dermatologist on the best type of cream you should use for your face to get the desired results.
When you have done enough research and found out that certain bleaching creams might not affect you, go ahead and start the bleaching procedure.
The procedure may take about thirty minutes.
You should have the following;
- Face bleach powder
- Face bleach cream
- Cotton balls
Wash your Face
The first step is preparing your face by washing it thoroughly using cold, clean water and a mild face wash.
This is to help in removing impurities from the face.
Apply the cream again on your hand to ensure that it will not bring any irritation to your skin.
Mixing the Cream
The second step is taking the bleaching cream and the powder and mixing them thoroughly.
Mix them in a very clean container to ensure no added impurities in the mixture that a dirty container might cause.
Apply the Mixture
Take the mixture and apply it gently to the areas you want to bleach.
You should apply the mixture in the direction of your hair growth.
The most important thing is applying the mixture evenly in all the parts you are targeting to bleach.
But you should apply a heavy layer on the most sensitive parts and the parts most affected by the acne dark spots.
For example, the parts above and below the lips are not always affected by acne; therefore, you should apply a thin layer.
The area around the nostrils and the under the eyes are parts that you should not apply the cream since it might cause a burning sensation and irritation.
Leave the Bleaching Mixture on Your Skin for some time
All the bleaching creams should have instructions on how to go about the procedure and the time the cream is supposed to sit on your skin.
Most creams are designed to stay for about 15-30 minutes to bring out the desired results.
Do not leave the cream on your face for more than the time indicated on the instructions.
This is because it might cause irritation or itchiness on the skin.
Rinse off the Bleach
You should use a cotton ball and cold water to wash out the bleach.
Again wash the skin gently with clean water and a face wash without scrubbing.
Soothe the Skin
Wipe your skin with a clean towel to dry.
If you feel any irritation, you should pass an ice cube then apply a mild moisturizer to allow your skin to breathe.
Using Natural Methods
Those who are not comfortable using chemicals for bleaching can opt for natural alternative methods.
These methods include;
Using Turmeric Paste
Mix half spoon of turmeric with lemon juice to make a paste.
Apply this paste for about 15 minutes to your targeted skin parts, then wash it with lukewarm water.
Apart from skin bleaching, turmeric can be used as an acne treatment method. Turmeric acts as a natural antiseptic.
Using Honey Mix
Mix half a tablespoon of honey and lemon and apply the paste to your affected skin parts.
Leave it for about 15-20 minutes, then rinse your skin with clean water.
Honey occurs naturally and has healing powers since its antibacterial.
It can treat acne, remove scars and fade blemishes.
Using honey can also lighten up skin tone.
Using Lemon Bleach
Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C (see if Vitamin C can be used by Acne Prone Skin here).
This vitamin can benefit your skin in several ways, like reducing blemishes and brightening your skin.
It also works as a natural bleach.
You can therefore opt to use it in bleaching acne-prone skin.
To prepare lemon bleach, squeeze one lemon in a container, apply this juice on the affected areas of your skin, leave it to dry for around 10 minutes, and rinse with cold water.
